Commemorative US Dollar Bills Featuring Trump’s Signature for 250th Anniversary

4 weeks ago 0

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced the introduction of US dollar-denominated bills with President Donald Trump’s signature, marking the nation’s 250th birthday. Bessent confirmed this move by reposting a social media message from the president, displaying an image of a $100 bill with Trump’s signature.

“There is no more powerful way to recognize the historic achievements of our great country and President Donald J. Trump than U.S dollar bills bearing his signature, and it is only appropriate that this historic currency be issued at the semiquincentennial,” Bessent expressed.

Traditionally, US paper currency features signatures from the treasury secretary and the US treasurer, not the president. Trump, previously a New York businessman, has been interested in leaving his mark and name on various institutions across Washington and the country.

The administration had previously added Trump’s name to the US Institute of Peace and the board of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. However, a judge later ordered the removal of his name from the arts complex. In addition, Palm Beach International Airport in Florida is being renamed in his honor.
