Colorado GOP Gubernatorial Nominee Claims Demon Encounter

Victor Marx, the Republican nominee for governor in Colorado, shared a unique experience on a past podcast episode. In a 2020 episode of his podcast, Marx, a former Marine and Christian ministry leader, claimed he encountered Satan through an individual. This claim resurfaced through a report by Talking Points Memo.

Marx recounted an event at a high-security youth prison in Texas. He was praying for a girl who then began manifesting what he described as a demon. He noted that the situation felt so real that other detained girls, including gang members, gathered fearfully in a corner. Marx described the encounter as intense. The demon claimed it was Satan, and Marx expressed how shocking and real the manifestation felt. He assured listeners he wasn’t joking about the experience.

The podcast episode also had Marx sharing more about the girl, whom he described as “adorable,” yet he believed she was possessed by a demon. In the conversation, Marx mentioned the demon said, “I guess you’re going to say I’m possessed,” a statement that led him to laugh. He suggested this response angered the demon. Marx is known for founding All Things Possible Ministries, which aims to help people find freedom spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

Marx’s political journey gained attention after he secured his party’s nomination for governor, supported by his all-Marine ticket, which includes retired Marine Col. George Markert as his running mate. He positions himself and his team as political outsiders with rigorous discipline ready to counter the democratic socialist movement growing in several races in the country.

His campaign focuses on public safety, social conservatism, and economic concerns like the cost of living. This campaign effort comes at a time when the Democratic Party’s progressive successes include significant gains in places like Colorado, where democratic socialist Melat Kiros won a primary against longtime incumbent Rep. Diana DeGette.

Marx faces Democrat Phil Weiser, the current attorney general of Colorado, in the upcoming electoral race. Weiser is seen as the favorite to replace outgoing Governor Jared Polis, who cannot run again due to term limits.
