Kurt Angle Reflects on His Wrestling Career in WWE and TNA

Kurt Angle established himself as a remarkable figure in professional wrestling. Known for his WWE achievements, he secured six world titles and became the fifth Grand Slam champion in WWE history. He came into WWE with an Olympic gold medal, highlighting his impressive background.

Many wrestling fans also recognize Angle’s significant impact in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). During nearly a decade-long tenure, he earned six world championship titles, two tag team championships, and an X Division championship.

To be honest with you, I had an incredible career in both WWE and TNA and I believe that I had a better career in TNA… I would have loved for the WWE fans to see me wrestle in TNA, Angle expressed on OutKick Dropkick.

Angle participated in the unique King of the Mountain matches in TNA, winning two. This match required competitors to hang a title belt on a hook above the cage, creating a challenging and entertaining reverse ladder match.

Angle noted his surprise that some of TNA’s unique matches have yet to transition to WWE. He suggested that WWE could benefit from adopting creative ideas showcased in TNA pay-per-views.

The Olympic champion was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame in 2013, joining notable figures like Sting, Jeff Jarrett, and Gail Kim. TNA continues to honor accomplished wrestlers and will induct three new members—ODB, Amazing Red, and Konnan—at its Bound for Glory event.
