The interview also touched on the famed incident at the 2022 Academy Awards when Will Smith slapped Rock after he made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith. Rock expressed a desire that the incident never occurred, acknowledging that his bad day wasn’t the most significant issue compared to everyday challenges.

When asked about future attendance at the Oscars, Rock indicated he would only return if nominated, remarking, “The only way I’ll go back is if I’m nominated, and I’m not getting nominated.”
