Chicago White Sox Dominate Blue Jays with Big Offensive Night

On Friday, the Chicago White Sox showcased their offensive strength against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Sox scored twice in the second inning and expanded their lead with key plays. Braden Montgomery, positioned on third base, scored with two outs when Chase Meidroth hit a single to center field. Following that, Sam Antonacci hit a two-run home run, increasing the lead to five runs. Manager Will Venable praised the team’s effort, highlighting the significance of Antonacci’s homer and the collective effort in putting together good at-bats.

The White Sox, energized after the All-Star break, defeated the Blue Jays 12-4 at Rogers Centre in front of a crowd of 41,895. “Scoring runs is integral to our identity. To come out strong after the break is significant,” Venable stated. Sam Antonacci, with two hits in the win, hit home runs in two consecutive games for the first time in his career, tallying six in his last 25 games. Each batter in the Sox lineup contributed with at least one hit. “We’re focused,” Antonacci said. “It’s exciting to get back on track after resting.”

Despite giving up three home runs, they managed to secure the win.

Pitcher Anthony Kay allowed two runs on two hits over four innings, including a solo home run by Luis Urías. He registered five strikeouts, three walks, and hit two batters in his 83-pitch stance. “Command was off, but the offense backed us up,” Kay acknowledged. The home run by Urías cut the Sox lead to 5-2 in the fourth inning. Colson Montgomery widened the gap with a three-run double in the fifth.

The Blue Jays reduced the Sox lead with solo home runs from George Springer and Brandon Valenzuela. However, the Sox bounced back in the seventh inning. Braden Montgomery hit a bases-loaded triple, chalking up three runs. He then scored on Tristan Peters’ sacrifice fly, closing the inning at 12-4.
