The Cincinnati Bengals faced a challenging game against the Jacksonville Jaguars last Sunday, not only suffering a loss but also losing their key offensive players, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, to injuries.
Chase’s Concussion Update
Chase experienced a concussion during the match. Despite this, he returned to practice on Thursday, according to ESPN’s Ben Baby. This indicates progress through the concussion protocol, though he hasn’t been cleared to play yet. Chase’s participation in training raises hopes for his return in the upcoming game against the Miami Dolphins.
His injury occurred in the second quarter when Jaguars’ Jarrian Jones tackled him by the face mask. Another defender followed with a tackle while Chase was down. Jones received a face mask penalty, but Chase exited the field without assistance and remained sidelined for the rest of the game.
So far, Chase has amassed 212 yards and three touchdowns on 21 catches over four games, trailing Higgins who has 401 yards.
Higgins Faces Adductor Injury
Tee Higgins, however, may not join Game 5 as he was absent from practice for two consecutive days. Fox19’s Jeremy Rauch reported Higgins was seen jogging lightly during rehab exercises.
The Bengals, holding a 2-2 record, will feel the absence of their star receivers, particularly in a pivotal matchup. They face an 0-4 Miami team this weekend, providing some respite, though each game carries significant weight in the NFL.
