1 month ago 0

Cincinnati Reds’ All-Star pitcher Andrew Abbott recently made an unforgettable proposal to his girlfriend, Lindsay Stone. Utilizing social media, Abbott shared the news of their engagement, captioning an Instagram post with the word “Forever.” The post displayed the couple celebrating their special moment on a rooftop overlooking the Cincinnati skyline, with the Reds’ home stadium, Great American Ball Park, visible behind them.

Lindsay Stone is a recognizable figure to Cincinnati fans, having worked as a TV anchor at WLWT for three years. Her professional journey began in South Bend, Indiana, as a sports reporter and anchor at WDNU, covering Notre Dame football. Stone later moved to WTTV in Indianapolis before joining WLWT. On May 14, she announced her departure from WLWT upon her contract’s expiration on May 24, though she did not disclose her future plans.

Abbott, age 26, has spent his entire four-year career with the Reds, earning his first All-Star team selection last season with a record of 10-7 and a 2.87 ERA over 166 1/3 innings pitched. His impressive performance led to his designation as the Reds’ Opening Day starter this season. However, Abbott’s current season has shown less consistency compared to last year.

In 11 starts this season, Abbott has maintained a 4-2 record with a 3.97 ERA but has faced challenges in command, reflected by his 26 walks and 38 strikeouts. Encouragingly, Abbott appears to have found his rhythm recently, boasting a 4-0 record with a 1.29 ERA and 19 strikeouts across his last five starts.
