Amanda Kloots Discusses Grief and New Love After Losing Her Husband

1 minute ago 0

Amanda Kloots is addressing the common belief that dating after the death of a spouse means forgetting the person who passed away. Kloots, who lost her husband, Broadway star Nick Cordero, to COVID-19 in 2020, shares that widows and widowers often face judgment when entering new relationships. She asserts that grief and love do not simply vanish when someone new comes into your life.

“The heart can hold a lot of love,” Kloots mentioned in an interview. She explained that dating again does not mean the love for the deceased is gone. Instead, it means fostering new connections while still cherishing past love.

Acknowledging that new love does not erase old love, Kloots emphasizes the importance of understanding this reality when dating a widow or widower.

Kloots encourages friends and family to support those navigating new relationships after loss, acknowledging the difficulty of their journey. She firmly states that those who date again aren’t doing so out of joy but as a natural progression of life.

Nick Cordero’s battle with COVID-19, including 95 days in the hospital, was publicized by Kloots. Cordero encountered multiple medical challenges, leading to an eventual amputation. Despite his passing, Kloots actively speaks about him, believing that conversation about the deceased is crucial.

Kloots insists on keeping Cordero’s memory alive for their son, Elvis. Her continuous reference to Cordero in everyday life keeps his spirit present.

“I feel like he’s around Elvis and me all the time,” Kloots shares, describing the spiritual connection she feels with Cordero since his passing.

Amanda Kloots embraces her spiritual connection with Cordero, and it influences her current endeavors, including her role on Netflix’s “Let’s Marry Harry.” She advises reality star Harry Jowsey on love and relationships, emphasizing the importance of communication and understanding in partnerships.

Kloots’s learnings from grief resonate in her new podcast “Good Grief with Amanda Kloots.” The podcast explores grief in various forms, such as death, divorce, and changed life circumstances.

Grief, according to Kloots, does not end, and neither does love. She continues to carry Cordero’s memory forward while building her future.
