Jonathan Andic Denies Murder Allegations Surrounding Father’s Death

4 weeks ago 0

Jonathan Andic, son of the Mango clothing empire’s founder, has refuted allegations of being involved in his father’s 2024 death in Spain. In an open letter to staff, Andic described the accusation as “serious, unjust and unfounded.” He announced his resignation as vice president of the company’s board to focus on his defense.

Andic emphasized that a “public narrative” has emerged, which he considers “biased, distorted and taken out of context,” resulting in a misperception of guilt. This marks his first public statement on the matter. He declared, “I make this decision sadly but convinced that it is what’s best for the company and for me. I need to concentrate all my energy on demonstrating my innocence.”

On December 14, 2024, Jonathan Andic was hiking with his father, 71-year-old Isak Andic, in the Montserrat mountains near Barcelona when the tragic incident occurred. Initially considered accidental, the case was reopened by prosecutors in October 2025, with investigations focusing on Jonathan Andic.

Following his arrest a week ago, Jonathan Andic was released after posting bail of one million euros ($1.2 million). He had been appointed as the holding company’s executive vice president in January 2025, nearly six weeks after his father’s passing.
