Dodgers Struggle in NLCS Game 3 Against Brewers

2 hours ago 0

The Los Angeles Dodgers faced a challenging night off and on the field. After losing 6-2 to the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series at Dodger Stadium, frustration was evident in the locker room.

Dodgers’ star third baseman, Max Muncy, expressed the team’s situation bluntly. “We’re playing like s—, they’re playing great. As simple as that,” Muncy stated to reporters following the defeat. This marked the third consecutive loss for the Dodgers in the series.

Despite some individual efforts, the team struggled offensively. Muncy, facing a slump, managed only 4 hits in 21 at-bats in the postseason, with three hits as home runs. However, all came in the previous series. The Dodgers have yet to hit a home run against the Brewers and have struggled with runners in scoring positions, going 3-for-32.

During the game, Will Smith delivered a crucial hit in the sixth inning, driving in two runs to gain a 2-1 lead. Yet, Brewers’ reliever DL Hall shut down the Dodgers’ hope by striking out the next two batters.

Max Muncy, Tommy Edman, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman observed during a pitching change in the eighth inning against the Brewers.

The lead was brief after Jake Bauers hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning, putting the Brewers ahead. Garrett Mitchell followed with another homer, extending their lead to 4-2.

The Dodgers couldn’t recover, with nine straight batters retired by the Brewers to end the game. With this loss, the Dodgers find themselves down 3-0 in the series, putting their third consecutive World Series title in jeopardy.

They aim to avoid elimination and a sweep as they face the Brewers again, hoping for a change in momentum.
