Trump Plans Rally for Senator Roger Marshall Amid Tight Kansas Race

50 minutes ago 0

President Donald Trump is considering a rally to support Republican Senator Roger Marshall in Kansas. This comes as polls suggest Democrat Adam Hamilton leads slightly, with the election just three weeks away. Marshall has held his Senate seat, a Republican stronghold since 1919.

Trump praised Marshall as a “favorite Senator” on Truth Social. Midterms often assess the current political climate for the ruling party, with historical losses for the president’s party in midterm elections. While Republicans currently hold a narrow majority in Congress, Kansas remains a Republican-leaning state. However, Democrat Laura Kelly is governor, showing the party’s presence there.

Hamilton’s campaign accused Marshall of failing policies, alleging support for the Iran war, healthcare cuts, and price increases on essentials. These claims involve arresting pregnant women over small debts and blocking Epstein file releases. Marshall’s campaign was contacted for comments.

Trump rebutted criticisms against Marshall, emphasizing his legal obligations in a post. He also equated Hamilton’s views to the Democratic platform.

Trump criticized Hamilton, noting his support for high taxes and open borders, questioning his suitability as a pastor. Hamilton leads the largest United Methodist Church in the U.S., founded in 1990. Trump accused him of causing division and mismanaging church allegations, claims rejected by Hamilton’s campaign.

Trump announced a “Kansas Style Rally” for Marshall, citing strong evangelical support. Recent polls indicate either a slight lead for Hamilton or a near tie. Polymarket had Marshall ahead, while YouGov and Trafalgar Group polls showed Hamilton leading or closely trailing. A New York Times/Siena poll showed a close race, with many undecided voters.

Recently, Marshall addressed an unpaid cookie bill from 2020, expressing surprise and committing to make amends. His campaign highlighted resolving the issue publicly.
