Readers’ Views on Social Security Reform and Education

In response to the editorial from September 18 titled “Raising the payroll tax would not fix Social Security,” there is agreement that simply increasing the tax will not resolve the long-term issues facing Social Security. The focus should be more on directly preventing poverty during retirement. However, it is important not to rule out the idea that additional revenue could also be part of the solution.
