Flight Attendant Saves Baby and Offers Help to Exhausted Mother

A United Airlines flight attendant, Monique Harris, showcased quick thinking and compassion when she assisted an exhausted mother on a flight. During United flight 3486 from Newark to Grand Rapids, a passenger named John Frehse witnessed and shared the incident on Instagram. He highlighted Harris’ swift action as the mother dozed off and her baby began slipping from her lap. Harris caught the child and offered to hold the baby, allowing the mother some much-needed rest.

Frehse praised Harris on Instagram, writing, “United should be very proud.” He described how Harris instructed the mother to rest while she took care of the baby. Frehse also posted a photo of Harris holding the infant aboard the plane, noting the positive impact of her actions during challenging times. Frehse, who has flown extensively with United, tagged the airline’s CEO, Scott Kirby, and described Harris as an exemplary employee.

Monique Harris responded modestly in the comments, expressing surprise and gratitude at the recognition she received. “I’m in tears,” she wrote. “I never do anything for recognition.” She expressed appreciation for Frehse and others acknowledging her actions.

Republic Airways, which manages flights for United among other airlines, praised Harris in an email to Fox News Digital, calling her an extraordinary colleague and flight attendant. United Airlines echoed this praise in a social media response, expressing pride in having Harris on their team and commending her actions on flight 3486.
