A Nevada jury has found Duane “Keffe D” Davis guilty of first-degree murder in connection to the 1996 drive-by shooting of Tupac Shakur. The verdict was delivered on Monday after jurors began deliberating, following closing arguments in the highly publicized trial, according to reports from The Associated Press.
The trial saw a 16-member jury panel, including four alternates, listen to nine days of testimony. The court heard from 24 prosecution witnesses and three defense witnesses.
On September 7, 1996, a gunman in a white Cadillac opened fire on a BMW on the Las Vegas Strip carrying Tupac Shakur and Marion “Suge” Knight. While Knight sustained minor injuries, Shakur died six days later at the young age of 25.
