2 hours ago 0

Hayden Panettiere’s tumultuous relationship with Brian Hickerson took an unexpected turn as recent events unfolded in South Carolina. On Wednesday, police conducted a welfare check at a home linked to Brian and Zach Hickerson, following Panettiere’s death days earlier. Despite two police visits in the morning, officers received no answer at the door.

On August 19, police performed another wellness check at the residence where Brian and Zach Hickerson were reportedly staying. During this investigation, authorities spoke with both Hickerson and executed a search warrant. A police report noted that Zach Hickerson was emotional while paramedics attended to Panettiere, whereas Brian Hickerson only exhibited emotion after her death was confirmed.

Emergency responders were given a bag of medications that Panettiere had allegedly been taking. The actress met Hickerson in 2018 through mutual friends, soon after separating from Wladimir Klitschko. Brian Hickerson, from South Carolina, transitioned from real estate to acting, even landing a minor role in the thriller “M.F.A.”

According to media reports, Brian Hickerson traveled with Panettiere from Los Angeles before her fatal incident on August 16 in Greenville, South Carolina. Although their relationship saw a brief split in 2022, they rekindled their romance. Brian Hickerson’s brother confirmed his relationship with Panettiere at the time of her death.

Panettiere and Hickerson’s relationship had significant legal troubles. Hickerson faced domestic violence charges related to Panettiere in 2019, followed by eight more in 2020, including felony assault charges. He later pleaded no contest to two felony charges, leading to a plea agreement in 2021.

After Hickerson’s arrest, Panettiere shared her ordeal to support others in similar situations. She issued a statement expressing a wish to help others in abusive relationships: “I am prepared to ensure this man never harms anyone again.”

Just before Panettiere’s passing, Hickerson participated in legal proceedings to reduce the charges against him yet again. On August 13, the prosecution objected his attempt to expunge and reduce the charges, with the court ultimately denying this motion.
