Brush Fire Engulfs Burbank Hills on Saturday Afternoon

A wildfire erupted in the Burbank hills on Saturday afternoon, alarming residents and officials. The Burbank police and fire departments swiftly responded to the fire, which ignited near the intersection of Wildwood Canyon and Harvard Road around 3:20 p.m.

Named the Walnut Fire, the blaze threatened areas close to DeBell Golf Club and Wildwood Canyon Park. Due to the potential danger, the city ordered evacuations for the regions immediately surrounding the fire.

The city of Burbank issued a statement highlighting the closures. ‘DeBell Restaurant and Golf Course and the Stough Canyon Nature Center are closed. All hiking trails are closed until further notice. Additionally, the Starlight Bowl concert scheduled for August 8 has been canceled.’

As of the latest reports, the fire has charred approximately 20 acres. Firefighters are working diligently to contain its spread and protect nearby structures.
