Podcaster Dave Rubin suggests that President Donald Trump has a limited window to push his agenda. Despite having over two years left in his term, Rubin believes the upcoming three months are crucial. This urgency arises from potential Democratic gains in Congress during this year’s midterm elections.
Rubin discussed these challenges on “Hang Out with Sean Hannity.” He noted that if the Republican Party loses the House, Trump may face impeachment proceedings. Rubin stated, “If [Republicans] lose the House, [President Trump] is going to get hung up in impeachment.” Although Trump might be impeached, Rubin doubts there would be enough Senate votes to remove him from office.
The podcaster highlighted the broader implications for the Make America Great Again movement. He believes an essential period in Republican politics, dating back to 2015, could be ending. “The point is that the process to end these last 10 years of MAGA and everything that has happened since 2015 will begin,” Rubin explained.
Besides the Democratic opposition, Rubin emphasized internal strife among conservatives as another significant concern. He foresees intense conflict and division within the GOP. Describing the situation, Rubin warned of “rats jumping from a ship” as some conservatives might distance themselves from Trump.
In Washington, D.C., Republicans are expressing concerns about Trump’s push to cancel the August congressional recess. They argue this move could harm GOP chances in the midterms. Vulnerable members of Congress claim they need to focus on campaigning and engaging with their constituents rather than being in session.
Though Rubin noted the cliché, he described the upcoming midterm elections as potentially the most significant in recent history. “We are on the edge of handing the keys to the castle to people who are telling us they want to burn the castle down,” he said.
