Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is due to visit Washington, D.C. to meet President Donald Trump and attend the memorial service for the late Senator Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. According to his office, Netanyahu will depart Israel on Monday and meet President Trump the next day. Graham’s communications director announced last week that the senator’s “life and legacy” will be commemorated on Tuesday, July 28, in Washington, D.C., and on Wednesday, July 29, in Columbia and Pickens County, South Carolina.
Netanyahu praised Graham in a post on X, highlighting his profound friendship. “During our recent meeting, I remarked, ‘Lindsey is a great friend of Israel and a treasured friend of mine. No one supports us more than Lindsey.’ He perceived the inseparable security ties between Israel and America,” Netanyahu said. “He dedicated his life to defending America, fortifying our alliance, and promoting freedom worldwide.”

The U.S. and Israel jointly launched Operation Epic Fury and Operation Roaring Lion against Iran on February 28. Recent actions have seen repeated airstrikes conducted by U.S. Central Command against Iranian military positions, while the Israel Defense Forces have countered provocations from Hezbollah, an Iran-backed militant group based in Lebanon.
