The U.S. Education Department has broadened the range of graduate degree programs that qualify for increased student loan limits. This move comes after a federal court decision affecting the agency’s classification of ‘professional’ degrees.
Previously, only 11 graduate programs were eligible for higher loan limits. Now, the list has expanded to include 29 programs. The change allows more students pursuing advanced education to access necessary financial assistance, supporting a larger number of academic disciplines.
This update aims to provide greater opportunities for students who previously faced limitations in funding their education. With these adjustments, the Education Department seeks to facilitate access to diverse fields of study and enhance the educational landscape.
