Tucker Carlson’s Political Shift: Plans for a New Party

Tucker Carlson, a prominent conservative media figure, revealed plans to start a new political party following his departure from the Republican Party. He emphasized he does not intend to run for public office.

Carlson, who once closely aligned with President Trump, has distanced himself from the Republican stance on the war with Iran. He announced his intentions in an interview with the Columbia Journalism Review, expressing a need to explore what truly benefits the country.

He highlighted a period of political upheaval, noting the rise of an insurgent left within the Democratic Party due to dissatisfaction over leadership decisions concerning Israel following the conflict in Gaza. Meanwhile, the Republican Party faces internal divisions stemming from Trump’s approach to the Iran war.

Carlson, well-known for his podcast and past tenure at Fox News, shared his plans for leaving the Republican Party last month. He used a podcast platform to express that, despite being a loyal supporter for 35 years, he feels the party has lost connection with ‘America first’ ideals under current leadership.

During his Columbia Journalism Review interview, Carlson pointed out policies for his potential new party, such as advocating for the cessation of all immigration. Known for his staunch anti-immigration stance and conspiracy theories, he argues immigration contributes to unemployment. However, numerous economists dispute this claim.
