Phillies’ Stars Lead Team to Victory Against Mets

Schwarber’s first home run was a 456-foot shot, followed by a 457-foot homer off Mets reliever Cionel Pérez. He concluded his night with a two-run homer in the seventh inning. This performance increased his season-leading home run total to 28 and marked the fifth three-homer game of his career.

Pitcher Cristopher Sanchez also played a vital role, allowing one earned run over six innings, which lowered his ERA to 1.80. Remarkably, this was his 23rd consecutive start at Citizens Bank Park with two or fewer earned runs – an MLB record surpassed only by Jacob deGrom’s 24.

In the same historic game, Schwarber became the 67th player in MLB history to hit multiple home runs in one inning this season. Among Phillies, he joins Trea Turner, Von Hayes, and Andy Seminick in achieving two home runs in an inning.

During the game, Harper hit a solo home run, his 16th of the season. He then doubled, singled, and completed a two-run triple in the fifth inning, achieving his first career cycle and the 11th in Phillies history.

The Phillies and Mets are set to conclude their three-game series on Sunday night, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:20 p.m. ET.
