The Seattle Seahawks celebrated their Super Bowl victory on Thursday night, receiving their championship rings. However, Kenneth Walker, the Most Valuable Player of the game, was absent from the event.
Kenneth Walker earned MVP honors in Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, gaining 135 yards on 27 carries. His performance made him the standout offensive player on the field. Due to Zach Charbonnet’s ACL injury in the NFC Championship game, Walker played a critical role as the primary running back for the Seahawks.
Though Walker was not present at the ring ceremony, this was due to his commitments with the Kansas City Chiefs, who held their mandatory minicamp on the same day. Walker had recently signed a three-year contract worth $45 million with the Chiefs, a decision made a month after the Seahawks’ triumph.
During the Super Bowl, Walker joined the ranks of Timmy Smith and Marcus Allen by executing multiple 25-yard runs by the second quarter. Although he did not score a touchdown, his efforts were instrumental in positioning Seattle to score, especially benefiting kicker Jason Myers, who successfully completed all five field-goal attempts.
Walker amassed 135 rushing yards, ranking as the eighth-highest total in Super Bowl history and his second-highest personal game total, including the playoffs. His performance exceeded expectations, as his rushing prop of approximately 70 yards was surpassed in the first half.
The Seahawks secured a 29-13 victory against the New England Patriots, earning their second Lombardi Trophy. Coach Mike Macdonald and Kenneth Walker celebrated with the trophy at Levi’s Stadium.
The Super Bowl rings were designed with 50 white diamonds around the team’s logo, marking the Seahawks’ 50th season. Each ring also contains a piece of a game ball and features a removable topper that can be worn as a chain pendant.
