Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania has strongly criticized Maine Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner, labeling him a “creeper” and accusing him of being a “Nazi sympathizer.” This follows reports of Platner’s involvement in a scandal concerning explicit messages.
In Washington, D.C., Fetterman expressed his frustration with Platner’s actions, which include sending explicit messages to at least six women while being married. Platner reportedly used the anonymous chat platform Kik, notorious for lax identification that contributes to the proliferation of child sexual abuse content.
“What kind of a creeper has spent a decade on a platform like Kik, and sent a dozen explicit kinds of messages and who knows what else?” Fetterman stated to CNN.
In addition, Fetterman referred to Platner’s old Reddit username, “P-Hustle,” under which he made controversial comments. These included minimizing sexual assault, inappropriate behavior in public facilities, and negative remarks about a wounded soldier.
The scandal also involves a tattoo on Platner’s body, which resembled a Nazi symbol. Though Platner covered it up after 18 years, Fetterman questioned the implications of such a tattoo.
“All I’m saying is when I was growing up, if someone had a clear Nazi tattoo on them, you probably could conclude that they’re a Nazi sympathizer,” noted Fetterman. “Are you going to continue to defend that or dismiss that?”
Despite his criticism, Fetterman stopped short of supporting Platner’s Republican rival, Maine Senator Susan Collins. He added that cooperation would be necessary if Platner wins the election.
During the day, Fetterman criticized other Democrats for not condemning Platner’s misconduct. He pointed out past instances where Democrats overlooked similar behaviors in candidates such as Eric Swalwell.
Fox News Digital has contacted Platner’s campaign for comments, but no response has been received yet.
