San Francisco 49ers owner and CEO, Jed York, was arrested and charged in East Palestine, Ohio. Initially suspected of engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools, these charges were later amended to misdemeanors of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools.
York was detained on a Sunday morning and released that afternoon on a $5,000 bond, according to the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office. The incident took place at Wheat Hill Mobile Home Community, a trailer park in the area.
This case was referred to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force for more details, but they have not yet commented. On Monday morning, York appeared in Columbiana County Municipal Court, where he pleaded no contest to the charges. A plea agreement resulted in a sentence of two days in jail, with one day credited for time served.
Apart from the jail time, York was ordered to pay fines totaling $1,150. His actions will now be reviewed under the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. The NFL has acknowledged the situation and stated that it will follow the policy’s procedures.
The 49ers have opted not to comment further, considering it a resolved legal matter. Jed York has been the majority owner of the team since 2024, and he previously served as CEO. His roots are in Youngstown, Ohio.
