Woman Arrested for Murder in 2009 Death After Illegal Injection

37 minutes ago 0

A woman, Tamaira Angell Smith, has been apprehended after being wanted for 17 years in connection with the death of Eyanna Moore, a Georgia mother. Authorities detained Smith after she attempted to renew a driver’s license obtained with a stolen identity. Smith faces a felony murder charge for allegedly injecting silicone into Moore’s buttock at a hotel near Stone Mountain in 2009. Moore died the next day.

How the Incident Unfolded

Moore’s maternal aunt, Yolanda Hammond, shared that her niece had researched before the procedure. Smith and another woman posed as sisters, claiming one was a doctor and Smith a physician assistant. They used stolen credentials to mislead Moore. After the procedure, Smith called Moore’s husband, David, instructing him to bring yogurt and Gatorade to the hotel. Upon arrival, he found Moore in distress and dialed 911. Smith later called David, learning of Moore’s death, screamed, and hung up. She vanished soon after.

Tracked Down Through Identity Theft

Smith acquired a South Carolina driver’s license using a stolen identity in 2018. In 2026, an alert barred her from renewing it online, prompting her contact with the DMV. An investigation by Special Agent Shawn Ludwig in August revealed Smith’s identity through facial recognition. The investigation also found Smith using another alias in McKinney, Texas. Local officers located her vehicle and arrested her in August.

Family Seeks Justice

Moore’s four children—Tatiyanna, Faith, Fantasia, and Tristan—were left motherless. Two of them were too young to remember Moore. The family now intends to attend court hearings, seeking justice. They hope the case raises awareness about illegal silicone injections.

Hammond emphasized the importance of verifying credentials to prevent tragedies. “No alteration of your body is worth losing your life,” she stated.
