Will Scharf Appointed as White House Counsel by Trump

President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that Will Scharf will serve as White House Counsel effective September 1. Scharf will replace David Warrington, who has served in this role and will transition to the private sector.

Trump praised Warrington’s contributions, highlighting his outstanding performance as White House Counsel and his work during Trump’s presidential campaign. Trump expressed gratitude for Warrington’s efforts and wished him well in his new endeavors.

Scharf currently holds the position of White House Staff Secretary and has also been the Chairman of the National Capital Planning Commission. Trump noted Scharf’s impressive legal background, having represented him in various cases, including at the Supreme Court. Scharf served as a Federal Prosecutor, worked in private practice, and clerked for two Federal Appeals Court Judges. He graduated with honors from Princeton University and Harvard Law School.

Trump described Scharf as tough, strong, and smart, emphasizing his dedication to the country and respect for the law. Scharf is known for being present during key moments, often seen handing Trump documents for signing and explaining their significance.

White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles congratulated Scharf on his new role, expressing optimism about future successes. She also thanked David Warrington for his tenure, highlighting the accomplishments of the White House Counsel’s Office during his time.

Conservative commentator Josh Hammer complimented Trump’s decision, calling Scharf a valuable addition to the White House Counsel’s office. Hammer, who once collaborated with Scharf on the “Jews Against Soros” initiative, voiced his approval of Scharf’s appointment, noting their shared views.
