Starting pitcher Anthony Kay faced a tough situation in the bottom of the fourth inning. With bases loaded and no outs, he delivered a clutch pitch that resulted in Elias Díaz grounding to third. Miguel Vargas executed a double play, allowing only one run. Kay then struck out Alejandro Osuna, closing the inning.

Kay commented, “Escaping with only one run was significant. Vargas made a great play at third.” Kay finished with two runs on five hits over five innings, four strikeouts, and two walks. This improved his record to 7-4 this season. Manager Will Venable praised Kay’s game management and ability to land critical pitches.

Offensive Contributions

The White Sox took advantage of Chase Meidroth’s four singles and two RBIs. Andrew Benintendi also made his mark with two hits and two RBIs. Braden Montgomery contributed with a single, a walk, and scoring three runs.
