Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is approaching his wedding date, set for July 3, with his famous fiancée, Taylor Swift. The couple plans to marry at Madison Square Garden in New York City, and the event is expected to cost around $20 million.
There has been curiosity about whether the upcoming wedding has impacted Kelce’s performance during the Chiefs’ organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp. However, head coach Andy Reid assured everyone that Kelce remains focused and unaffected by the wedding preparations.
Can’t talk about it,Reid joked, referring to the non-disclosure agreements signed by guests attending the wedding.
Reid mentioned that Kelce has been present for most, if not all, of the offseason activities. “It’s good to have him here,” Reid said. He noted Kelce’s enthusiasm and lack of distractions despite the upcoming wedding, adding that the tight end excelled during the mandatory camp.
Kelce has not missed any OTA or minicamp sessions. The wedding is strategically planned to occur weeks before the Chiefs’ training camp starts in late July. This suggests that Kelce and Swift have carefully considered the timing of their wedding to align with key dates in the Chiefs’ offseason schedule.
Reports also indicate Kelce and Swift plan to postpone their honeymoon. They intend to take a multi-week trip toward the end of the year, visiting various international destinations including Asia, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Italy, and Paris.
