Emergency services attended to victims following a serious incident at the Christopher Street Day event in Berlin on Saturday, July 25, 2026. A vehicle plowed into the crowd, resulting in at least one death and multiple injuries. The tragic event occurred during a Pride celebration in Tiergarten Park, a major location in Berlin.

Berlin police identified a suspect linked to ‘Islamist circles’ and are actively searching for him. A white vehicle struck numerous attendees before 10:00 p.m., injuring at least 17 people, several of whom are in critical condition.

The governing mayor of Berlin, Kai Wegner, described the incident as an attack on the city’s open and free society, affirming the city’s commitment to freedom. Wegner shared his sympathy with the victims, their families, and their friends, expressing trust in the police and security forces to conduct a thorough investigation.

Earlier in the day, thousands had gathered for the Christopher Street Day Parade, a prominent event advocating for LGBTQ+ rights. However, the celebration, one of Europe’s largest, was canceled following the attack.
