A significant accident occurred in Connecticut on Tuesday morning when a tractor-trailer overturned, spilling thousands of beer cans across Route 44 in Salisbury. The incident happened around 5:39 a.m. near Twin Lakes Road, requiring the highway to be shut down for hours.
According to Connecticut State Police, the tractor-trailer veered off the roadway and toppled over. The accident caused extensive damage to the truck, resulting in its cargo, consisting of cans of Michelob Ultra and Bud Light, being scattered over the road.
State police shared photos showing the overturned truck and the beer cans strewn across Route 44. Crews worked for several hours to clear the debris and remove the truck from the roadway.
The state police expressed gratitude to motorists for their patience and for finding alternate routes during the road closure. Local firefighters, EMS crews, the Connecticut Department of Transportation, the Department of Consumer Protection, and towing crews assisted in the cleanup operations.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, according to the police. Interestingly, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was not informed about the crash, as per local reports.
