Three teenagers sustained injuries from gunshots on Saturday night in the North Lawndale area, according to Chicago police reports.
Police officers responded to a large assembly in the 1400 block of S. Christiana Ave. around 11:30 p.m. During their response, gunfire erupted in the vicinity.
Those present fled upon hearing the shots. A 19-year-old man subsequently approached the officers, explaining he suffered gunshot wounds to his groin and forearm. The officers administered a tourniquet before transporting him to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he remains in serious condition.
A 19-year-old woman also received a gunshot wound to the buttocks. She managed to reach Mt. Sinai on her own and is currently in good condition.
Additionally, another victim, an 18-year-old woman, was found later with a similar gunshot wound. Police transported her to Mt. Sinai where she is also listed in good condition.
Authorities have stated that Area Four detectives are leading the investigation into the incident.
