The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has reported that the crew aboard an Amazon cargo jet survived after a crash at Miami International Airport on Sunday. The update was shared at a press conference following the incident where the plane overran the runway and ignited while attempting to land.
The tragic accident resulted in the deaths of five people and injured five others, authorities confirmed. The crash involved a Prime Air cargo plane, which collided with two vehicles within the airport’s perimeter. There were at least eight occupants across these vehicles, as stated by NTSB Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy.
Seven of the victims were traveling in a van used by airlines for cleaning services. Another civilian vehicle was struck as the plane penetrated the airport’s boundary.
