Serena Williams, who left the tennis circuit in September 2022, marked her return to the sport after nearly four years. On Monday, she revealed her plans to compete again through an announcement made in partnership with Nike. Williams will participate in the doubles event at the HSBC Championships at Queen’s Club in London, scheduled for June 8-14.

Williams had never fully embraced complete retirement, expressing her true sentiments back in 2022. “One thing I’m not going to do is sugarcoat this,” she wrote. “I know many look forward to retiring, but I didn’t feel that way.” Her break allowed her to focus on family, welcoming her second child with husband Alexis Ohanian in 2023.

The competitive drive that fueled her long career persists. This determination facilitates her return to the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) tour.
