Rookie Quarterbacks Shine in NFL Preseason Hall of Fame Game

The NFL preseason began with an exciting finish as rookie quarterback Haynes King led the Carolina Panthers to a thrilling 33-30 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in the Hall of Fame Game. King, a former standout at Georgia Tech, displayed his potential with 180 passing yards and two touchdowns, adding 39 rushing yards to his performance.

On the other side, Arizona Cardinals’ rookie quarterback Carson Beck also impressed in his debut. A third-round pick from Miami, Beck finished the game with 188 passing yards and one touchdown. His early contributions set the tone for Arizona.

Kedon Slovis briefly put the Cardinals ahead late in the game with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Bryson Green, giving Arizona a 30-27 lead. However, King rallied the Panthers back, maintaining composure and showing skill on a night both teams chose to rest their starters. Bryce Young was a supportive presence for King throughout the game.

King’s precise plays included a 4-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Tyus III, which gave Carolina an early fourth-quarter lead at 24-20. Earlier in the game, King connected with Ja’Seem Reed for a touchdown in the second quarter.

Off the field, the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026 was highlighted by illustrious sports figures such as Drew Brees, Roger Craig, Adam Vinatieri, Larry Fitzgerald, and Luke Kuechly.
