Rick Harrison’s Emergency Heart Surgery and Personal Reflections

Pawn Stars figurehead Rick Harrison recently faced an unexpected health challenge. During a routine medical procedure, doctors discovered that Harrison required emergency bypass surgery.

A representative for Harrison’s family stated, “He went in for a simpler procedure, and they found he needed a bypass. He is resting comfortably and looking forward to a full recovery.” The family expressed gratitude for the medical team’s efforts and the support of his family, including his wife, Angie.

Harrison spoke about the importance of having his family—and particularly his new wife, Angie—close by during such critical times. Prior to this incident, Harrison shared that he was experiencing the happiest period of his life. He and Angie Polushkin married on January 3 at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, with an Elvis Presley impersonator officiating the ceremony.

Before these happier times, Harrison endured several personal losses. His son Adam passed away in January 2024 from an accidental fentanyl overdose, following a prolonged struggle with addiction. Later, in November 2025, he lost his mother, Joanne. Both events left a significant impact on Harrison’s life.

Expressing appreciation for Angie’s support, Harrison acknowledged her presence during difficult moments, saying, “She was there for me, and that’s the important part.” He fondly recalled their connection, noting her intelligence and authenticity. “I started talking to her, and she’s really smart,” he shared. “It’s refreshing to be with someone genuine.”

Reflecting on his experiences, Harrison suggested that happiness is attainable at any stage in life. “It’s all about being happy,” he advised. “Life is amazing if you want to make it amazing. It’s a wonderful world out there.”
