CeeDee Lamb Leads Dallas Cowboys to Victory Over Washington Commanders

The Dallas Cowboys secured their first victory of the season in a 37-20 win against the Washington Commanders. CeeDee Lamb played a pivotal role in this success.

As a five-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro, Lamb dominated the Commanders’ defense. At 27 years old, he caught eight passes, totaling 153 yards and two touchdowns, most of which were achieved in the first half.

“That guy, he’s been amazing,” quarterback Dak Prescott expressed. “We’re only getting started, and so is he. He’s a phenomenal player. He scored touchdowns in each of the first two games and I don’t think he’ll stop. It’s about his mindset, his mentality, where he is in life, and it’s only going to get better. I’m excited for what’s to come.”

Despite the triumph, Lamb faced an unexpected outcome; being notified about an impending surprise drug test from the NFL immediately after the game concluded.

Cowboys team reporter Patrik Walker commented on the situation, stating, “CeeDee Lamb had nearly 100 receiving yards in the first half, finished with two receiving TDs — including a record-setting TD pass from Dak Prescott. Yet, Lamb is reportedly called for a drug test by the NFL.”

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones focused on Lamb’s performance rather than the drug test. During his postgame availability, Jones praised Lamb’s influence in Week 2.

“CeeDee was driven,” Jones stated. “Everything seemed destined for him today. He aimed to display his value to the Cowboys and his remarkable career so far.”

The standout performance came a week after Lamb recorded five catches, 44 yards, and one touchdown in the season-opening loss to the New York Giants.

Alongside Lamb, teammate Jake Ferguson also caught two touchdowns against Washington. However, his stats — four catches, 43 yards — didn’t attract as much attention from the NFL as Lamb’s did.

Prescott also exhibited an impressive game, achieving an 83.8 completion percentage by completing 26 of 31 passes. He amassed 279 yards, four touchdowns, and maintained a passer rating of 143.8 without any interceptions.
