Public Confidence in the Supreme Court at Record Lows

1 day ago 0

In an era marked by declining trust in institutions, public confidence in the Supreme Court remains low. Despite this, many Americans tend to support the Court’s decisions overall.

As reported by Gallup in July, public approval of the Supreme Court’s performance stands at just 33 percent. This figure represents a historic low in the 26-year history of the poll. Meanwhile, Marquette Law School’s latest survey paints a slightly better picture, yet still shows more people disapproving than approving, with 47 percent expressing approval and 53 percent disapproval.

These findings come as the Supreme Court prepares to begin a new term. Despite the low public confidence, the Court’s rulings continue to garner general support from Americans.

“Democracy Dies in Darkness” – a reminder of the critical role the Supreme Court plays in upholding democratic principles.
