President Trump’s Health Check-up at Walter Reed

4 weeks ago 0

President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Tuesday for routine medical and dental check-ups. This trip marks his third in-person doctor’s appointment in just over a year, following visits to Walter Reed in April and October 2025.

This year, Trump also visited his dentist twice in West Palm Beach—first in January and then earlier this month for a follow-up. As he approaches his 80th birthday, Trump remains the oldest individual ever to assume the presidency. He frequently stresses his excellent health in public statements, despite ongoing speculation. During his re-election campaign, he highlighted his vitality, contrasting his energy with his rival’s, whom he labeled “Sleepy Joe Biden.” However, incidents such as moments of drowsiness and a bruised hand, attributed by the White House to frequent handshakes and the use of aspirin as a blood thinner, continue to fuel health concerns.

Last year, the diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency emerged after examination for mild leg swelling. Trump has publicly discussed his use of aspirin during interviews, notably in a January publication of the Wall Street Journal, where he remarked on its blood-thinning benefits, emphasizing his desire to avoid ‘thick blood’ flowing through his heart.

During Trump’s October 2025 visit, initially described as a scheduled follow-up, subsequent reports clarified that he underwent a CT scan of the heart and abdomen. This detail emerged after Trump mentioned having an MRI in visitor conversations—a discrepancy later corrected by White House communication. Dr. Sean Barbabella, the president’s physician, issued a statement to NBC News about the October visit, explaining the advanced imaging was conducted to exclude cardiovascular concerns. The examination returned normal results, confirming no abnormalities.

Following Trump’s April 2025 check-up, Barbabella reiterated presidential health in a statement, underscoring Trump’s robust cardiac, pulmonary, and neurological functions. He highlighted Trump’s active schedule, encompassing numerous meetings, public engagements, media interactions, and golfing successes.
