In a joint statement, the leaders applauded Trump’s “strong leadership” in orchestrating what they described as a “breakthrough.” They referred to the forthcoming deal—anticipated to be revealed at a signing ceremony on Friday—as a “historic opportunity to prevent Iran from acquiring any nuclear weapon.”
