Phil Collins Reflects on Trump and Unwritten Song

34 minutes ago 0

British rock legend Phil Collins recently shared his views on former President Donald Trump and revealed an unwritten song titled “Fat People With Guns” in an interview with Piers Morgan. This comes ahead of Collins’ induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Collins’ View on Trump

During the interview, Collins expressed his opinion on Trump, stating, “not a lot.” He criticized Trump’s demeanor and compared him to previous U.S. presidents. Collins commented that Trump’s manner was “unattractive” and noted that past presidents, though polarizing, were often respected for their elegance and eloquence.

“Even when he’s saying he did nothing, his whole manner is unattractive,” Collins noted.

The musician’s remarks contribute to a broader discussion about artists using their platforms to criticize Trump and the country. Doug Eldridge of Achilles PR highlighted that such criticism might be seen differently when it targets broader national issues rather than individual politicians.

Unwritten Song “Fat People With Guns”

Collins mentioned a song idea titled “Fat People With Guns,” which he described as “about America.” The unwritten phrase captures his thoughts on the country and suggests a critical view.

Sarah Schmidt, president of Interdependence PR, warned that artists could face backlash if their comments are perceived as criticisms of Americans. She cautioned that such remarks could be costly for artists concerned with their commercial appeal.

Speculation on Trump’s Future Plans

Collins also speculated whether Trump might attempt to remain in office beyond a second term. However, Trump has publicly dismissed such suggestions, citing the constitutional two-term limit outlined in the 22nd Amendment.

“I’d love to run, but the law is very strong,” Trump reportedly stated, addressing speculation about another potential run.

Fox News Digital sought comments from the White House, although no immediate response was received.

Reporter CJ Womack, who joined Fox News Digital’s team in 2026 after graduating from Long Beach State University, contributed to this report.
