The NFL plans to suspend Los Angeles Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson for two games. This follows his altercation with Buffalo Bills edge rusher Bradley Chubb. The incident occurred after Monday night’s game, which was both intense and competitive.
Footage clearly shows Jackson losing his temper and punching Chubb. As a result, the suspension is largely viewed as self-inflicted. Jackson is likely to contest the decision.
The official statement on the suspension mentioned that Jackson violated sportsmanship rules. He struck Chubb in the face after the game, as players were exchanging handshakes.
Chubb maintained his composure, allowing his teammates to pull him back. He avoided escalating the situation further, recognizing the potential repercussions.
After the game, Chubb commented, “It’s just emotions. They always catch the second guy. So, I let him swing. Then my teammates held me back, and I just chilled.”
This is not Jackson’s first controversy. Earlier in June 2026, he faced legal issues related to felony domestic violence charges. Though formal charges were not pursued, the matter is still under NFL review.
In 2024, Jackson served a two-game suspension for violating the Personal Conduct Policy. He recorded intimate encounters without consent, which led to a civil lawsuit.
The Rams, led by coach Sean McVay, stress the importance of accountability. However, Jackson’s recurring incidents create challenges for the team. With the Rams’ current standing at 2-3 in the NFC, they need consistency on the field.
