Recent flash floods caused by a glacier collapse have claimed over 1,300 lives and left over 5,000 missing. The toll on infrastructure and communities has been severe. Law remarked on the strong sense of community among the Nepalese, stating, “There’s very much a culture here of if one person is cut, they all bleed,” highlighting the emotional strain the team faces as news from home impacts their concentration on cricket.

Despite the challenge, the team remains focused. “The mood has been pretty sombre,” Law said from Kuala Lumpur. The disaster unfolded while they were still preparing for games. Despite no direct family impact, he noted the personal connections, as some of his acquaintances remain missing. “I have spoken to a few people who have been in the middle of it all trying to provide supplies,” he shared, addressing the vast destruction.
