Nationwide Demonstrations Support Cornell Student’s Allegations

On Thursday evening, hundreds assembled on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. They rallied in response to allegations of sexual assault involving Cornell University. These events were part of a nationwide movement supporting a student referred to as ‘Jane Doe’.

Jane Doe has filed a lawsuit accusing the university and seven students of involvement in her gang rape in 2024. Across the country, similar events took place. These included rallies, vigils, and walkouts held under the hashtag #StopSexualViolence, emphasizing the theme ‘From the Frat House to the White House’.

The D.C. event concluded with a march leading to the executive mansion. Participants aimed to draw attention to issues of sexual violence in educational institutions and beyond.
