A mountain lion was spotted relaxing on a sidewalk under a tree in San Dimas, prompting wildlife authorities to close a street on Friday afternoon. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s San Dimas Station announced on Instagram after 8 a.m. that several reports were received about the mountain lion roaming along Foothill Boulevard between San Dimas Avenue and San Dimas Canyon Road.
The department advised local residents to avoid the area and ensure the safety of pets and outdoor food sources that might draw the mountain lion near. “Runners, pedestrians, and residents should exercise caution,” stated the post.
Cort Klopping, a public information officer with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, confirmed the agency received reports and dispatched teams to the scene.
