Meghan Markle’s Photos at Princess Diana’s Home Stir Controversy

Meghan Markle has shared images of her children, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie, playing at the childhood home of the late Princess Diana. Experts are labeling this action ‘tasteless.’ Markle posted pictures during a recent U.K. visit on Instagram, under the caption ‘Summer Holiday.’

One image features Prince Harry with their children on a path lined with trees. The location is believed to be Althorp, the Spencer family’s ancestral estate. In the photo, Harry and Archie hold bouquets, suggesting a visit to Diana’s burial site, located on an island within the estate.

“Prince William is likely ‘livid’ by Markle’s photos,” said Hilary Fordwich, a British royals expert.

According to Fordwich, Prince William is upset by the perceived commercialization of Althorp in Meghan’s social media post. This sentiment resonates with other key figures within the monarchy, who feel the need to protect the royal family’s image.

Richard Fitzwilliams, another royal expert, noted that the Spencer family must have permitted the Sussexes’ visit to Althorp. Thus, the post is permissible.

“Meghan shared pictures assumed to be from Althorp. That would have been allowed by the Spencers,” Fitzwilliams told Fox News Digital.

He highlighted the lack of media interaction following Harry and Meghan’s meeting with King Charles and Queen Camilla. This suggests a deliberate attempt to avoid media leaks that could jeopardize future meetings.

British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard called Markle’s decision to publicize a private moment ‘predictable.’

“Meghan’s posting ties them to history without using a title. Yet, it shows a tension, wanting the Royal story when it helps,” Chard remarked. The public seeks peace in private but acknowledges that the crown must take precedence.

During their recent U.K. visit, Harry and Meghan reportedly reunited with King Charles and Queen Camilla. However, Fordwich explained the encounter likely won’t equate to a significant reinstatement within the royal family.

She emphasized the family’s guarded stance due to potential risks associated with media leaks from Harry and Meghan. Sharing photos from Althorp is deemed exploitative and a reason for mistrust.

Chard cast doubt on Charles accepting Harry back into royal duties, citing the lack of an apology from the Sussexes. A family reunion does not translate into a return to royal life without accountability and a genuine apology.
