Meghan Markle has offered fans a look into her family’s life in the United Kingdom with a video shared on Instagram. The clip shows the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry enjoying the English countryside with their children, Archie and Lilibet.
The video begins with Markle, 45, and Harry, 41, walking hand-in-hand. It includes scenes of their children, with Lilibet seen riding a bicycle and Archie running beside her. Harry is also shown fishing from a boat with the kids.
A glimpse into the Sussex family’s life in England comes amid speculation about whether they are setting up a permanent home there or balancing it with their life in the US.
Since their return to the UK in August, speculation has grown about their plans. Royal experts have questioned if it signifies a permanent homecoming or simply a strategic move.
According to royal commentator Kinsey Schofield, there could be an attempt to keep ties on both sides of the Atlantic. She noted, “They seem to want both access to the UK and the opportunities they associate with life outside the monarchy.” Schofield compared the situation to a “half-in, half-out” role that differs from what Queen Elizabeth II permitted.
The couple intends to maintain their California home while establishing a base in Britain. They have previously pursued various projects outside the royal duties since their move to California in 2020. This includes releasing a Netflix series and Harry’s memoir.
British broadcaster Helena Chard commented on their return, suggesting they are “keeping options open.” She mentioned that visible presence in the UK could help with security arrangements Harry seeks for his family.
