Federal safety regulators have announced a recall of approximately 195,000 heated blankets and pads sold through Amazon due to safety concerns. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a notice highlighting numerous reports of burn injuries linked to these products.
The recall involves products manufactured by JKMax. Officials have identified that the internal heating elements of the blankets and pads pose a risk of overheating, which can lead to fires and burns. According to the CPSC filing, JKMax reported 577 incidents where the products were smoking, melting, or burning. Among these, 53 cases resulted in burn injuries.
