Man Sought for Two Separate Shootings in New York City

Suspect Wanted in Bronx Deli Robbery and Brooklyn Shooting

A 31-year-old man named Jesus Acosta is wanted for two fatal shootings in New York City, according to the NYPD. The incidents occurred within two days of each other, in different boroughs.

Bronx Deli Incident

On Tuesday, around 12:16 a.m., a shooting took place at 149 Grill & Deli located at 143 East 149th Street in the Bronx. The gunman approached a 33-year-old man and shot him several times in the chest. The suspect then stole an undetermined amount of cash from the register before fleeing. The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition initially, but later succumbed to his injuries. The NYPD has classified the case as a homicide.

Brooklyn Shooting Incident

Two days earlier, a shooting occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday at 842 Rockaway Ave. in Brooklyn. This resulted in the death of a 44-year-old man and injuries to a 39-year-old man. The New York Post identified the location as American Best Wings & Pizza. Officers found the older victim shot in the head and the younger victim shot in the leg. The 44-year-old was pronounced dead at One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, while the other man was listed in stable condition.

NYPD’s Search for Acosta

The NYPD released a surveillance image of Acosta, seeking public assistance in locating him. He is described as being 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 175 pounds, with brown hair and eyes. Tattoos visible on him include the word “Bronx” on his hand and “Bobby” on his left forearm.
