During the tightly contested fourth quarter, attention momentarily shifted away from the game when a fan ran onto the court hoping for a unique photo opportunity. The fan attempted to take a selfie next to Victor Wembanyama but was quickly stopped by security.
A fan was detained by security after entering the court in the final quarter of Game One of the 2026 NBA Finals between the Spurs and Knicks at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.
The fan emerged from the sidelines opposite the team benches and made his way onto San Antonio’s offensive end of the court. Security promptly removed him, and no contact with the players occurred.
Following this brief interruption, play halted for about a minute before resuming with a jump ball. The fan was escorted out through a baseline tunnel.
Earlier in the game, Knicks guard Jalen Brunson headed to the locker room after a collision involving Spurs forward Harrison Barnes. Brunson returned with a wrapped knee and later appeared to injure his left ankle after stepping on a Spurs player. Despite these challenges, he continued to play.
Brunson ended the game with 30 points, leading the Knicks in scoring. The Knicks ultimately triumphed over the Spurs 105-95 in Game 1. This win marks the 12th consecutive playoff victory for New York.
