2 weeks ago 0

Victor Wembanyama faced a difficult night after the San Antonio Spurs’ collapse against the New York Knicks in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. The game resulted in the largest comeback in Finals history, placing Wembanyama at the center of unwanted attention. As he departed the team bus at their Midtown Manhattan hotel, he encountered unruly Knicks fans.

The scene was chaotic with fans recording players, shouting obscenities, and chanting phrases such as ‘Knicks in five.’ The situation escalated when two objects were thrown at Wembanyama.

One object landed unnoticed, but the second shattered against a street pole close to him. According to the New York Post, no police action transpired at the hotel as of Thursday morning, despite the tense environment. Madison Square Garden canceled an outdoor watch party after disputes over security protocols.

Tensions continued following earlier NBA Finals games in New York City, with arrests made for brawls after Game 3. Nonetheless, Game 4 proved unforgettable for Knicks fans. The Spurs had dominated the first half, establishing a 76-49 lead. Yet, the Knicks narrowed the lead to 15 by the fourth quarter.

The Knicks outscored the Spurs 32-16 in the final period, clinching a 107-106 victory. OG Anunoby secured the win with a last-second tip-in, thrilling the Madison Square Garden crowd. This shift marked a surprising 3-1 series lead for the Knicks, positioning them as strong contenders.
